Psychometric properties of nine scoring rules for the Clinician-Administered Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Scale

Article Abstract:

It is important to investigate the reliability of nine different scoring rules for the Clinician-Administered Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Scale (CAPS). Research in this area has also compared the use of DSM-III-R and DSM-IV diagnostic criteria for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It was established that all nine rules have good to excellent reliability across two independent administrations of the CAPS. The DSM-III-R and DSM-IV diagnostic criteria for PTSD produce almost identical results.
