Knowledge gap
Article Abstract:
The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has carried out a survey on the knowledge economy which places Germany first in terms of knowledge-based industry as a proportion of total output. The US ranks second, followed by Japan, and them the United Kingdom and France. Sweden ranks first in terms of investment, followed by France. There are problems with definitions in the report, and the way that all employees in an industry, including unskilled workers, are put in the same category, but it sheds some light on the knowledge economy.
