Social-cognitive processes as moderators of a couple-focused group intervention for women with early stage breast cancer

Article Abstract:

The psychological well-being of female patients with early stage breast cancer is investigated in relation to the effectiveness of couple-focused group intervention (CG). Results showed that CG is more effective in patients who used emotional processing and expression in coping with cancer than in patients who did not chose these strategies naturally. Usage of the strategy among different types of women is discussed.
