Entangled therapeutic relationships, incidental encounters and third-party inquiries are three of the major causes of discrepancies in confidentiality maintained by psychotherapists in college campuses. Psychologists practicing in colleges need to be careful and adept at maintaining secrecy about their patients without alienating members in the campus community.
