Article Abstract:

This article examines the different stages of adolescent romantic relationships over time and the stress factors involved. The authors maintain that as romantic relationships progress and become more intimate over time the stress level tends to decrease while active coping of stress increases.

This article addresses adolescent psychosocial development from ages 12 to 16 and the impact it has on romantic relationships. The authors maintain that overinvolvement in dating was attributed to poorer psychosocial functioning during early and middle adolescence.

The instability of possible selves: identity processes within late adolescents' close peer relationships

Article Abstract:

Teenagers relationships with their peers will determine how they build an identity. A study shows that role playing behavior between friends helps teenagers try out different social identities and eventually stabilize into a chosen identity.
