The role of recognition memory in anaphor identification
Article Abstract:
The capacity for recognizing a noun in a scrambled sentence decreases following the recognition that another noun has occurred before in the scrambled sentence. Studies suggest that recognition processes play a role in anaphor comprehension and that such processes are in part the means by which repeated-noun anaphors are identified as such.

Article Abstract:
A research demonstrates how prior knowledge might allow for qualitative differences in representation of texts about controversial issues. In several experiments, it is found that individuals with high prior knowledge about the topic are better to recall arguments on both sides of a controversial issue.

Readers comprehend narrative texts by constructing a series of mental models of the situations described in the text. Observations suggest that readers might use event boundaries as a means for controlling the contents of memory.
