Three sessions of brief couples therapy: a clinical trial
Article Abstract:
Couples presenting in a clinical setting with a primary complaint of marital discord can receive benefits in terms of dyadic adjustment and conflict resolution if they undergo three sessions of reframing and restraining and undertake a homework task. There seems to be a connection between approval of the interventions and improvement, indicating that couples who did not approve of the reframe were less likely to benefit. It appears that changes in marital adjustment may not be linked with changes in spousal attributions.

The nature of the relationship between remarried individuals and former spouses and its impact on marital satisfaction
Article Abstract:
The nature of the relationship between remarried individuals and their former spouses and its effect on marital satisfaction was studied. There was little evidence of feelings of continued attachment and positive feelings towards the former spouse were quite rare, in general. The relationship was more positive amongst the more highly educated and amongst those with no children from their former marriage.
