Two fluency heuristics (and how to tell them apart)
Article Abstract:
The illusion of familiarity experienced by people when the fluency of their performance is enhanced without their being aware of it is discussed. The distinction between absolute and relative fluency is demonstrated and both these bases of decision appear to be used depending on circumstances.
