Two pairs of conflicting motives in decision making

Article Abstract:

A model developed to test the conflict resolution theories in decision making was able to validate the theory that decision making is the result of conflict resolution between the desire to make an accurate decision and the desire to make the decision distinct. This was validated by the model using the process tracing technique which allowed the choices to be traced according to their motivation. The process tracing technique lends several advantages to the study of motivation and decision making in that the subjects are not required to verbalize their decision process.
