What's real in children's fantasy play?: fantasy play across the transition to becoming a sibling
Article Abstract:
Children experiencing the critical life transition of becoming a sibling do not enact all their perceived concerns during fantasy play. A diary kept by the mothers of 30 three-five yr old children shows that if the children express positive concerns in fantasy play, they tend to have a better relationship with their sibling. However, those that express negative concerns do not have negative relations. Although fantasy play does not always reflect the children's concerns, the children seem to benefit from it. Other events in the children's daily lives are perceived as equally or more important as the critical life transition.

Predictors of self-reported problem behaviours in Turkish immigrant and Dutch adolescents in the Netherlands
Article Abstract:
Research indicates that cross-cultural differences in behavior problems between Dutch adolescents and Turkish immigrant adolescents can be partly attributed to low parental educational levels. In addition, non-cultural factors do not explain depressed/withdrawn and anxious behaviors. Implications for further study are discussed.
