Cognitive load and the equality heuristic: a two-stage model of resource overconsumption in small groups

Research is presented concerning the development of a two-stage heuristic model to investigate the overconsumption of resources which occurs in small groups. The self-serving choice made by group members is discussed.

Who takes the lead in risky decision making? Effects of group members' risk preferences and prototypicality

Article Abstract:

Research is presented concerning the risk preferences of different members of a group and the characteristics which are shown by those group members willing to take the lead in decision making. The risk assessment of participants is discussed.

Effects of environmental uncertainty and social value orientation in resource dilemmas

Article Abstract:

An analysis of the social value orientation and environmental uncertainty effects on resource allocation reveals that non-cooperativeness and high uncertainty call for higher harvesting rates. Resources are conserved better by cooperativeness and low environmental uncertainty and social value orientation exerts itself by influencing decision goals.
