Article Abstract:
The International Federation of Journalist drafted a petition signed with other members of International Freedom of Expression Exchange defending Ethiopian Free Press Journalist's Association. Throughout the period, the Ethiopian government's behavior is noted as an unwanted hostility towards Ethiopian Free Press Journalists' Association that belies its support for press freedom in the country.

When truth doesn't help: Insult laws punish journalists for doing their job
Article Abstract:
The fair-minded might expect journalists to be reprimanded for their mistakes, however t it is doubtful they would wish to see journalists punished for getting the fact right. With the continued existence of defamation laws and an insult laws on the statute books of some European country, it is important for the European Union to take lead in convincing these countries to remove such laws.

Article Abstract:
Fourty years after American President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Freedom of Information Act into law, reporters throughout Latin America are trying to make access to information a reality in their countries. As a result laws regulating access to public information have been approved in Panama, Peru, Mexico, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic.
