The blog phenomenon is creating many important opportunities for publishers, although they may consider blogs as only online conversation of readers. Literary blogs play a more serious role as blogging book clubs encourage serious literary discussion and appreciation beyond the media and cities of publication, and enable online conversation about books, expose talented authors and facilitate publishers to monitor trends and opinions, market and sell their books.
