A political architect

Article Abstract:

Special Adviser to the UK Lord Chancellor Garry Hart supports working with local people when planning a redevelopment scheme in the community. He suggests developers should be encouraged to build on brownfield sites by offering incentives. He points out developers may choose to build on greenfield sites because it is easier than renovating urban areas. Hart was a property lawyer until he was recruited by the Lord Chancellor Lord Irvine. Hart feels his experiences will help him advise on planning issues. Hart formerly worked for Herbert Smith, a law firm in London, England.
