Chelsfield unveils sinuous mall design

Article Abstract:

Property company Chelsfield has employed architect Ian Ritchie to design the White City shopping centre in London, England. This development is expected to be the last out-of-town regional mall scheme in the UK to obtain planning permission. The design involves all parking and service areas being located underground, on three levels. All traffic will circulate on the northern and eastern sides. There will be 4,500 parking spaces, which is quite a small number for an out-of-town development, but Chelsfield believes that at least half the people coming to the shopping centre will arrive by public transport.
