The financial industry in crisis: issues, answers and solutions

Article Abstract:

A series a reforms are needed in the United States financial services industry in order for the crisis which developed from the late 1980s to be resolved. These include education and development within the industry and more regulation by states and the federal government. The need for the government to step in will be greater if the industry does not succeed in regulating itself.

Environmental issues in lease financing of machinery and equipment

Article Abstract:

Issues are presented concerning the position of the lender in cases of lease defaults on equipment and machinery which poses an environmental hazard. The responsibility of the lender if contamination occurs are discussed.
