Average wages for surveyors working in Scotland fell during whilst in East Anglia they showed a marked increase. Proving your worth

Article Abstract:

The deterioration in employment prospects means that job security is now more important than salary for those in the UK surveying profession, according to the 1996 Estates Gazette/Reuter Simkin Salary and Benefits Survey. Of those surveyed, around 54% anticipate leaving their firm within two years: 64% of respondents believe that better career prospects will be the reason behind a job change, while 23% believe redundancy is the most likely reason. The average surveyor's salary rose by 1.6% to 30,800 pounds sterling in 1995 vs 1994.
