Total quality management can assist corporate real estate groups to adopt to changes in real estate management, industry and organizational set-ups. The focus on customer satisfaction will enable corporate real estate groups to cater to their clients needs and expectations. A flexible approach coupled with effective information dissemination may be thebest ways to start a TQM program. However, corporate real estate groups still need more improvements in relating their functions to meet company and industrial changes squarely and creating quality results for internal clients and the company.

Total quality management prioritizes the provision of quality customer service and the practice of quality business procedures. Its successful implementation depends on the basicknowledge of TQM, leadership policy, the tools and processes involved and theirapplication. Corporate real estate groups can apply those aspects of quality knowledge that will improve their operations and help them achieve their corporate goals. This will enable them to maintain good client relationships through the continual enhancement of quality services.

Article Abstract:
Total Quality Management (TQM) as applied to the real estate industry is studied. Representatives from IBM, Xerox Corp and EDC Corporate Real Estate Services shared their experiences in using the disciplines of TQM to improve the quality of their products and services. Each one noted the need for top management support and bottom-up acceptance in the implementation of the strategy, together with need for defining corporate goals.
