MEPC buys Stateside in search of American dream

Article Abstract:

MEPC, the second-largest quoted property company in the UK, is moving away from mainland Europe. It is giving higher priority to its operations in the US, where the 84 million pounds sterling purchase of North American Property Unit Trust has given it shopping malls with a book value of 198 million pounds sterling. The company has previously been criticised for lacking direction, so this purchase has boosted its share price.
