Article Abstract:
Some 26% of industrial and distribution occupiers in North West England who were questioned are planning to expand their building needs. One hundred industrial and distribution occupiers in North West England were questioned in Jul 1997. Trade with the Republic of Ireland was important for 26% of respondents and trade with Northern Ireland was felt to be important by 22%. Some 37% of companies reported that at times they had found it difficult to find skilled workers. Only 9% intend to use the railfreight terminal at Manchester, England, during 1998.

Article Abstract:
Some 20% of industrial and distribution facilities occupiers, in the East Midlands, England, who were questioned chose good road systems as a vital factor in deciding to rent a building in a particular location. Some 18% of respondents looked for a skilled workforce in the area after the position of the property and its rent had be taken into consideration. Almost 50% of respondents were unprepared to pay rents of more than five pounds sterling per sq ft. Around 40% would use the services of a property consultant when looking for a new building.
