Investors clamour for prime stock
Article Abstract:
There is growing demand from institutional investors for prime office property in the UK. Many analysts forecast that direct property will outperform gilts and equities in 1996, with offices being the best performer within the property sector. Demand from tenants is expected to be boosted by the general economic revival, which is being driven largely by services industries. However, the office investment market is being held back by factors including lack of rental growth and a shortage of prime properties.

Article Abstract:
Property advisers offer particular advantages as managers of investment funds. They have specialized skills and knowledge relating to the property market and they have good access to the market. They also offer a good service in administrative areas including rent collection. They work best if they have a mandate to operate without reference to the fund trustees, an arrangement which is becoming increasingly common.
