It's EC when you know how
Article Abstract:
Representatives of agriculture in the UK are concerned that their views are not being fully supported within the European Parliament. The European Union (EU) is made up of 15 different member states, with many of the decision-making procedures carried out by the European Commission. Lobbyists are proliferating in the EU, but agriculture in the UK has lacked a rural representative to spread information both to the Commission and to UK farmers. Some critics of the EU suggest working conditions are too lax whilst others feel the bureaucracy is over complicated.

Article Abstract:
UK agricultural specialists are becoming increasingly active internationally. UK consultants have played a leading role in helping to set up the infrastructure for the privatization of agriculture in eastern Europe, for example, and have recently been particularly active in Romania. Projects involving UK agricultural specialists in this country include links between farm consultant Rod Jones and agri-business consultancy MASDAR. The first UK farmers are now being installed in Romania.
