Junior league performer
Article Abstract:
There are still mixed views in the UK about the performance of high bay warehouses as an investment medium. Overall returns from high bay investments were lower than those achieved by the property sector as a whole and lower than average industrial returns in the period 1994 to 1996. Furthermore, rental values fell by 1.6% in the same period, while average property rents rose by 3.1%. However, some observers feel that the sector is not yet sufficiently mature for a proper evaluation to be made.

Shopping evolution
Article Abstract:
The retail property market in Shrewsbury, UK, is set for significant change in the wake of the Jun. 1996 acquisition of the Darwin Centre by Burford Group. Burford believes that the shopping centre has great room for improvement, and has commissioned external consultants to look at future strategy. The town's office property market is in need of new stock, and Shropshire county council is trying to get the delayed Emstrey business park going: as yet, Shrewsbury has no business park.
