EU politics, Swatchmobile-style
Article Abstract:
Hambach, France, has been selected as the site of Micro Compact Car's Swatchmobile facility, winning over other sites in France and Germany. The two partners in Micro Compact Car, German automaker Mercedes-Benz and Swiss watch manufacturer Ste Suisse Microelectronique et d'Horlogeries SA, both made strong bids to have the plant located within their borders. However, economic considerations finally won over nationalistic fervor with Hambach's selection.
