Making the right connections
Article Abstract:
British Telecommunications' 1.5 billion pounds sterling property portfolio is managed by Property Director Alan White who aims to rapidly reduce the portfolio while simultaneously providing employees with up-to-date facilities. BT aims to occupy 55 million square feet by the year 2000 from 69 million square feet in 1995, compared with 80 million square feet in 1991. The disposal of 3.5 million square feet in 1994 saved the company 50 million-60 million pounds sterling in operational costs. The company hopes to sell 40 million square feet of exchange buildings during the years 2000-2010.
