News to set the nightingales singing

Article Abstract:

There are few signs of rising rents for commercial properties in the West End of London, England, even though incentives are being reduced. Property agents believe that the construction of 30 Bereley Square, which is expected to be completed in Nov 1996, will prove the starting point for rental growth. However, some observers feel that this property is receiving too much attention, and that few new developments will attract a single occupier.

Opening the door for future growth

Article Abstract:

The new Europort rail freight terminal constructed by Railfreight Distribution in Wakefield, England, will boost the town's reputation as an excellent warehousing location. It makes the town the third rail-linked distribution site, and is likely to form the basis for future property development there. However, there will still be strong competition from Doncaster and from grant-assisted sites in the south.

Kent hits the road running

Article Abstract:

The county of Kent enjoys a highly developed infrastructure, with a very sophisticated motorway flow system and extensive investment being made in roads. It is also set to see the improvement of rail services as direct services are launched to Europe through the Channel Tunnel. However, it is not yet certain whether new roads and rail links will represent sufficient incentive for potential occupiers.
