Business in an age of downsizing
Article Abstract:
The present traumatic practice of downsizing and its effects on the business world is analyzed in light of the Lutheran tradition which uses political power to enforce religious conformity and depends on ecclesiastical authority to gain political ends. Luther's doctrine is used to examine the current restructuring process and its negative effects on the quality of victims' lives. Lutheran ethics deal realistically with the harsh realities of life, but also encourages Christians to peacefully and properly involve themselves in the economic affairs.
