Rail/road schemes: business relocation

Article Abstract:

The issue of business relocation arising from the compulsory purchase of premises for road and rail schemes has attracted considerable interest recently. The occupier of the business premises must first establish the extent to which the compulsory purchase scheme will affect the business, and may then look at the possibility of making a claim for compensation for relocation. The legal position is likely to vary from case to case.
