Research on office markets

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine developments in office market research. It is shown that there are two distinct but interrelated real estate markets which serve as basis for office market activities. These are the tenant space market and the investment capital market. Various frameworks for analyzing these markets are presented. Conventional time series models are also applied to test these markets on a metropolitan submarket stage.

Did office market size matter in the 1980s? A time-series cross-sectional analysis of metropolitan area office markets

Article Abstract:

An analysis of metropolitan area office markets is presented. The analysis focuses on office market conditions in the 1980s based on rental data from the REIS Reports covering 21 metropolitan areas. It is shown that city size condition market outcomes, standard processes exhibit better portrayals of larger markets and the Manhattan market suggests discrepancies not observed in other markets.

Intrametropolitan location and office market dynamics

Article Abstract:

An analysis of intrametropolitan location and office market movements is presented. The analysis focuses on cross-sectional and dynamic variables as determinants of office market dynamics. It is shown that an interdependency between office location decisions and dynamic growth paths exists. In addition, substantial spatial specialization occurs according to office activity levels.
