Residential real estate on the Web: new challenges and new opportunities for real estate professionals

Article Abstract:

The emergence, widespread adoption and unparalleled growth of business on the Internet has had significant economic implications. Transacting real estate sales over the Internet is natural because of the information-intensive nature of these transactions. Electronic commerce, however, has threatened the role of the agent as the critical intermediary in traditional real estate transactions. Thus, real estate agents must adapt to the Internet and discover new ways to continue to add value to the real estate sale process to survive.

The Internet and mortgage brokerage: new challenges, new opportunities

Article Abstract:

The Internet computer network has significantly affected the operations of various mortgage brokerage businesses. It has brought changes associated with the carrying out of real estate sales, customers' expectations concerning price and service, and the function of brokers in mortgage transactions. Mortgage brokers need to learn to utilize the Internet and the concepts of electronic commerce to stay competitive and effectively address the challenges and opportunities it brings to the mortgage brokering industry.
