Article Abstract:

The changing needs of commerce and industry has resulted in a declining industrial workforce and a rapid increase in the number of service industries. The way that buildings are used has also changed dramatically, with the advent of the information age being the most important aspect of this change. Large companies are reducing their property portfolios in order to decrease costs and there is a constant oversupply of space on the world market. The problems likely to be encountered by property professionals in the future are outlined.
