The retail market in Edinburgh, Scotland, is buoyant, with the local council planning to construct the Princes Galleries, a 200,000 sq ft underground shopping centre. The new project will be funded from the sale of the St James Centre for 4.25 million pounds sterling and the 122 million pounds sterling Gyle Centre. Retail outlets on the outskirts of the city are also in demand, with one unit receiving interest from 12 occupiers. High density

Article Abstract:

The retail market in Brentford, England, is withstanding competition from the Lakeside shopping development, with several new companies moving into vacant units in the town centre. Security issues have been addressed, with the introduction of better communications with the police and the installation of close circuit television. The office market has remained buoyant since BT moved into the area, preletting a 150,000 sq ft site. The increasing demand for office space has been hampered by the strict planning restrictions for the area.
