Spain: positioned for prominence

Article Abstract:

The emergence of Spain as the magnet of investments in the European Union stems from the tax reform it effected to qualify for membership in the EU. The tax reform led to a number of economic reforms, such as the liberalization of many industries, that proved attractive to businesses. Spain's economic reforms has resulted in a growth rate of 4%, with the unemployment rate dropping to only 19.5%. Spain's added advantage of a young pool of skilled workers is proving to be one its great attraction to relocation.

Italy's location layout: north vs. south

Article Abstract:

The disparity between the economic growth rates between Italy's northern and southern regions offers a number of advantages for corporate relocations. The development disparity between the regions offers two markets for products, creating a large laboratory for marketing. Italy also suffered from image problems relating to its frequent change of administration, but its political system remains stable.

Holland's traditional role in European commerce continues to be exploited even today as the Netherlands continues on its role as the hub of commerce in Europe. Holland's traditional strength in the services industry is fast being complemented by its strengths in manufacturing and high technology. The mild climate in labor relations is also one of its strong attraction to employers.
