The U.S. Southwest: location hot spot heats up with high tech

Article Abstract:

Many high technology companies are relocating to Southwestern states such as Texas and Arizona. In 1995 alone, 900 new facilities were constructed by high technology companies in the two states. These firms included Texas Instruments, Samsung and Intel Corp. Other companies involved in diverse business activities, such as the Kenneth Leventhal Real Estate Group and Frito-Lay, are also expanding on the country's Southwestern region. This trend can be attributed to the area's favorable work ethic, reasonable labor cost and highly-skilled workers.
