The campaign for fresh air

Article Abstract:

Air conditioning systems are widely used in new office buildings, but in fact many occupiers would prefer them not to be there, according to a recent survey. This probably reflects the fact that most air conditioning systems are not particularly effective, as they are often poorly maintained. More and more alternatives to air conditioning systems are now being developed, including fan coils, chilled ceilings and displacement ventilation.

Kiss me quick before I'm gone

Article Abstract:

The town-centre forum in Blackpool, England, is trying to improve the image of the holiday resort. It has selected a town-centre manager to do the job. Although Blackpool is now less popular than in the past, town-centre retailers have not been greatly affected by out-of-town shopping. This is because tourists do not want to travel too far.
