The search for a way in

Article Abstract:

Telford, Shropshire, has been very popular with foreign investors. Although no speculative development has gone ahead since 1994. Telford has also suffered from losing its status as an Enterprise Zone in 1994. Local agents fear industrial and commercial firms will be made to pay higher rates which would have negative implications for the property market. Demand for new space is mainly due to firms, already located in Telford, wishing to expand.

Bids on a full house

Article Abstract:

Some land developers are unhappy at the restrictions on land use placed by Tamworth council, Staffordshire, England, who will not issue any more B8 consents. Demand for distribution space is high but there are few available sites. The council suggests the development of new distribution outlets do not bring a sufficient number of jobs to the area. Staff from the inward investment agency InStaffs point out some 45% of firms making enquiries about the county are looking for industrial space. Almost all the units in the Tame Park development in Tamworth have already been let.
