The unit totals 10,000 sq ft and the development is the first speculative offices to be built in the city for a while. Leicester lacks good quality modern space, and several buildings are being development under prelet arrangements. The retail sector has recently benefited from major deals with Walt Disney, Virgin, Waterstones, and the Early Learning Centre.

Moving into credit

Article Abstract:

Barclaycard and Texas Instruments have both chosen offices in Northampton Business Park. Barclaycard is to locate its new headquarters at a 300,000 sq ft site; while Texas is relocating from Bedford to a 49,550 sq ft site. According to John Burbage of Connell Wilson, increased speculative development will occur with prime yields at 6.5%. Northampton currently has around 420,00 sq ft of vacant office space.

Falling short of great expectations?

Article Abstract:

The A1 M1 link road, the A14, is a 44-mile dual-carriageway, which after a delayed opening, has had a disappointing impact. However, big names are being attracted to the area, including accountant Grant Thornton, Chicago Metallic, and RCI Europe. Burton Latimer Estates and Gazeley Properties are also planning a variety of B1, B2, and B8 space on a 56.8 acre site just outisde Kettering.
