20 Billion Names are Coming Online

Article Abstract:

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is beginning a project to digitize and index the 2.3 million rolls of microfilm in their vault. These record genealogical information from around the world. The LDS Church anticipates that they will eventually have 20 billion names, all indexed and linked to the original images. They already have about 4,000 of 200,000 family histories available online through www.familyhsitoryarchive.byu.edu .

Revolutionary Photographs

Article Abstract:

Researchers are collecting photographs of those who were involved in the American Revolution and their families. Photography began in 1839 so most photographs would be of elederly people. The final selection of photographs will be published.
