Walt Disney's adaptation of 'Golden Girl: The Story of Jessica Savitch' turned the near-Shakespearean tragedy into a bland romance. The movie version, 'Up Close and Personal,' grossed $49 million and the theme song became a megahit. However, it left out the real woman it was supposed to portray.
