Exploring YOur Family Tree with DNA
Article Abstract:
Genealogists use DNA testing to supplement paper research in their family history research. There are three main types of tests and they serve different purposes. Y-DNA tests only males to determine whether they have a common male ancestor and the approximate time period this was in. Mitochondria DNA (mtDNA) follows the direct female line. Biographical Ancestry DNA determines the mix of different population groups in a person's blood.

Pushing the Boundaries of Genetic Genealogy
