Food security under structural adjustment in Pakistan
Article Abstract:
The effects of the structural adjustments programs in Pakistan, such as reducing the budget deficits, are discussed. The government of Pakistan has supplied food to its people at reasonable rates through a system of subsidiaries, which has resulted in the removal of subsidies on wheat and agricultural inputs, resulting in the increase of poverty.

Taiwan's burgeoning budget deficit: A crisis in the making?
Article Abstract:
The Taiwanese economy is facing low or negative growth and rising unemployment rates. In addition, shrinking revenues and rising government spending in social welfare areas, are causing widening budget deficits in Taiwan.
