Wyeth-Ayersts' menopause drug Premarin has its origins in the urine of pregnant mares. But the drug's popularity means that thousands of unwanted colts are sold for a few cents to horse traders and butchers. Kathleen Hofferty is one of a growing number of activists who try to surreptitiously buy as many foals as they can for re-homing to loving owners.

Criminal lawyer Rainville continues to fight for Lambert, a pro-bono client whose case has become controversial after the public protested over the ruling that she was innocent. Lambert, who has since been sent back to prison on a technicality, still maintains her innocence of the murder of her supposed romantic rival.
