Akiko utilizes material from 'Genji' to incorporate into her work, producing misrepresentations that have been avoided by scholars and biographers. Transactions between life and art can be reconstructed through concrete examples in her poetry.

The writing of Imperial poetry in medieval China
Article Abstract:
The writing of imperial poetry, with a particular focus on Tang Taizong, the second emperor of the Tang dynasty, is discussed. The imperial poetic voice is characterized and it is indicated that the imperial role constrained Taizong's expression of individual personality.
