Article Abstract:

Wang Tingxiang (1474-1544), was marginalized in the intellectual world of the sixteenth century and beyond although he was one of the most active intellectuals in mid-Ming China. He represented intellectual transition and a radical departure from the belief in the prevalent Song idea that there existed an ontological foundation for the unity of all things in the world, which did not suit the traditional intellectuals.

Western Han aesthetics and the genesis of the fu

Article Abstract:

The basis of the Hanshu account of Western Han literature and the highest authority in both traditional and modern discussions of the fu are discussed. The political exploitation of the values and the ideals of the fu are explained.
