Data about China's central committee, Politburo, and Standing committee like turnover rates, generations, birthplaces etc are discussed. Norms of elite selection can be induced from such data, which allows a broad based analysis of changes in China's technology.

The empowering effect of village elections in China
Article Abstract:
After their first free and fair village election Chinese villagers feel a higher level of political efficacy. Enhanced efficacy would lead to more active participation that would affect political restructuring in Chinese villages.
