Why folklore and organization(s)?
Article Abstract:
Folklorists should not only continue, but also expand their studies in organizational behavior. The overlapping of these two disciplines since the 1970s has stirred much controversy. Some traditional folklorists scoff at studies of modern institutions, such as factories or corporations, and at organizational behaviorists' stabs at folklore studies. However, the folklorists have much to gain, including a wider audience, by studying the culture of organization.

How can we apply event analysis to "material behavior," and why should we?
Article Abstract:
The principles identified by folklorist Robert A. Georges, which defined storytelling, also apply to "material behavior." Material behavior is the behavior by which people construct, alter, and respond to the material world. It can refer to the making of folk art objects. Georges described stories not as a collection of linguistic texts but as a communicative event that occurs within a social context.
