Article Abstract:
Aircraft engine demand will reach an estimated 48,100 units worldwide between 2000-2019, predicts Rolls-Royce. For the period between 1998 and 2107, the UK-based aircraft engine maker had previously forecast demand for 44,500 units. In value terms, projected demand is US$ 337bn, compared with 280bn previously. The value of aircraft deliveries will be US$ 1.460bn between 2000 and 2019, according to the company, compared with the US$ 1.300bn projected for 1998 to 2017. Aircraft with at least 400 seats would make up 19% of overall demand over the period to 2019, compared with the 19% projected over the period to 2017. Aircraft with 180 seats will account for 11% of overall demand, compared with 8% in its 1998 study.
