A cogent argument

Article Abstract:

Cogent, the Nissan and Cranfield university's vehicle research project, aims to improve the design and development capabilities of automobile component producers in UK and sustain a model. A component's design helps to satisfy customers' requisites and specifications. Nissan's NX96 program measures the improvements on part of the suppliers, in terms of quality, delivery and cost. The project will initially involve component design and sub-assemblies in association with other suppliers, and then concentrate on vehicle design and an advanced system for design discipline.

Quiet flight

Article Abstract:

Engineers have taken steps to control the noise generated by aircraft. These include modifying the number of engine fan blades and their airfoil shape, lining cowlings around the fan with sound-absorbing materials and distancing rows between blades to minimize sound. The European Commission has also created the FANPAC program made up of 12 European organizations tasked with finding ways to reduce fan noise.
