A disconnect for NTT labs?
Article Abstract:
NTT executives fear that a breakup into regional and long-distances business would hurt its research and development capabilities, as happened to Bell Telephone after its similar divestiture. NTT's three main laboratories could be divided between two regional telephone companies.

Can chip devices keep shrinking?
Article Abstract:
Researchers are working to develop patterning technologies for semiconductor chips for use when current lithographic methods have reached their limits. X-ray lithography appears to be the most promising candidate to replace optical lithography.
