A microcosm of a macrocosm: New Brunswick's Daly Point Reserve contains most of the region's flora and fauna

Article Abstract:

The Daly Point Reserve in Bathurst, New Brunswick, is home to 75 plant species, 110 bird varieties, 16 butterfly varieties and 12 mammalian species. Brunswick Mining and Smelting Corporation Ltd and the New Brunswick Department of Natural Resources and Energy cooperatively manages the reserve.

Painting our masterpiece

Article Abstract:

An overview is presented of the Mealy Mountains national park of Canada, whose name is thought to derive from an English-speaking explorer. Originally home to the Innu and Inuit, the region became populated by European employees of the big traders and salmon canneries.

Making her point

Article Abstract:

Mary Majka, a Polish emigrant to Canada, has devoted her entire life to birds that she founded the country's first ever shoebird reserve. Although Majka's cause was aimed primarily at birds, she has also participated in a number of environmental activities in Canada.
